Waking up @ 5:00AM during the week

I have recieved a couple of questions as to why someone would get up at 5:00AM (unless they were required to do so [i.e. the army, some crazy work hours, etc]). Let me start off by saying that it is not easy getting out of bed at 5:00AM, even when I go to bed at 10:00PM the night before. But, once I'm out of the bed and at the gym (which is why I'm getting up in the first place), I feel great, and not tired at all. "But, Jason, why not go to the gym in the evenings?" Good question...thanks for asking, 'Mr./Ms. None of Your Business'. And the answer is this: I HAVE NO FRICKIN' TIME IN THE EVENINGS....SO, ZIP IT!!!
Monday and Wednesday I have lacrosse practice,
Tuesday I rock climb at the gym,
Wednesday I have an Italien class after my lacrosse practice,
Thursday I have a weekly meeting at night
(and, when that cancels, I rock climb at the gym),
and Friday evening is the time to relax.

And, since I can't go to the gym during the middle of the day...BECAUSE I WORK! Then, I opt to go in the morning...before work. Any more questions??

Short Story #1

The man peeks around the corner of the building. The coast is clear and a small patch of trees can be seen about 200 feet across an open area. He takes off in a mad dash for the trees! Just then, as he's halfway across the open space, 2 police officers appear out of nowhere in full sprint towards the man - each approaching from opposite ends with their guns drawn. The man makes it to the wooded area before getting snatched by the officers, and hides behind a large pine tree. He looks left. He looks right. Nobody is there. "Whew!" Just then, a slight rustle is heard about 7 feet above his head. He looks up! A police officer jumps down from an overhanging branch and lands right in front of the man. "Gasp!" A swift kick to the officer's knee, and he buckles down. The man takes off in a mad dash, aimlessly through the wooded area and finds himself in a small residential area. He scans the area with a complete 360, and he is all alone. He catches his breath, but not for too long as he contemplates the next move. Just then, he hears foot steps about 100 feet away moving at a fast pace. He turns around. Three police officers are pursuing him and closing in fast. He takes off towards the closest house and jumps up landing on the side of it. He is able to scale up the side of the house using the bumps of the stucco as holds. Two of the officers stop at the base of the house and fire shots up at the man just as he's gotten to the top and pushes himself up onto the roof, flat on his belly. One bullet was able to strike him in the left calf just before. He's crawling aross the roof, and then all of a sudden, 'Crash!'. He falls through a rotted part of the roof and lands in what appears to be a bedroom. He quickly checks himself for injury, then assesses his surroundings. "Oh my god. This is my house." The man hears his dog barking loudly on the bottom floor of the home. His heart is racing even faster now as the sound of footsteps climbing the stairwell can be heard closing in towards him. "I'm trapped." His head turns towards the bedroom doorway, and the third police officer is standing there with his gun drawn. The man just freezes. "Bang!".......

.....Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!' The man's eyes slowly open up and his head tilts up towards the clock on the shelf. It reads, '5:00AM'. He turns towards the bedroom doorway, and it's closed shut. He reluctantly gets out of the bed and makes his way towards the clock to shut it off.
It's time to start his Tuesday.
Or, is it Wednesday.
It doesn't really matter.
They're all one in the same.

Weekend at a Glance: 3/17-3/19
Friday: Went to a surprise bday party for an ol' family friend. It was a lot of fun as I got to see my nephew (he's 3 1/2) and he was the life of the party. Everyone loved him, and he only had one emotional outburst when he, just out of nowhere, shouted back at my brother. It was shocking, yet hysterical at the same time. I also ran into a girl at the party whom I dated briefly a couple of years ago. I actually met her at a wedding through the same mutual friend - fortunately our reuniting was not awkward and we still talked for a little bit.

Saturday: Visited my friends Sophia and Gabe, and Gabe's parents, whom were in town. Then, I watched Duke take care of business in the NCAA tourney. Later that night, I played poker with almost a dozen people at my friend's stacy and scott's house. My friend, amanda, and stacy had just come back from a photoshoot that apparently nobody is talking about :)

Sunday: Had lacrosse practice (I coach a youth team) early that morning. Later, I watched the local basketball team, George Mason, knock defending national champs, North Carolina, out of the tournament. GO PATRIOTS!!! I also spent the day cleaning and doing some work on my pond.

Preview for next weekend: NCAA March madness continues; lacrosse season kicks off with my frist game; hopefully will do some rock climbing; and, will my social life ever get started....stay tuned!
